In the Twinkling of the Eye

Last time, we presented warnings that the Last Days are here in the form of blood moons and false teachers. This time, we will present the list of End Time events from the Rapture of the Church to our eternal reign with Christ. There are warnings and hope. All of this is an introduction to the Fall Feasts.

This post contains warnings and hope about things to come in the very near future. Great change is just around the corner. The Earth is in its third trimester of birth pangs. And, it is about to go through seven years of labor to give birth to the Millennium Kingdom. These seven years will contain trials, testing, false peace, war, and judgment. Then comes the thousand years of peace which will be ruled by Jesus Christ. At the conclusion of the millennium, a final war will come followed by a final judgment. After all of these events, the heavens and the earth will be made anew. The believers in Jesus Christ will live forever and ever with their Savior.

Our prayer is that this blog post will become a helpful resource for you. We want the World to know about the events which are soon to occur. Our desire is to give warnings to unbelievers and provide hope for current and future believers in the true Christ (Messiah).

End-Time Bible references:

Old Testament:

  • Psalm 83
  • Isaiah 17; 66
  • Jeremiah 30–31
  • Daniel 12
  • Ezekiel 38–39
  • Hosea 6:1–4
  • Zechariah 12:1–9

New Testament:

  • Matthew 24:1–51
  • Mark 13:1–37
  • Luke 21:5–36
  • Romans 8:22–23:
  • 2 Timothy 3:1–5
  • 2 Peter 3:10–11
  • Revelation 6–22

There are many events in the Bible where in themselves are not End Time prophecies. Instead, they are foreshadows of events to come during the End Times.

The currently occurring birth pangs:

  1. An increase in the intensity of typhoons/cyclones/hurricanes and earthquakes
  2. An increase in the numbers of wars
  3. Plagues and pestilences
  4. Volcanic eruptions
  5. Heavenly signs: Meteors, solar storms, blood moons, and solar eclipses

Even, the Earth itself is already producing audible groaning noises. People all around the world are reporting unexplained booms and metal screechings which are heard all over the world in increasing frequency and intensity.

When all of these start happening at the same time, what does this mean? Answer: It means that the birth pangs (third trimester) are increasing in intensity. As it is a warning sign for an expectant mother, it should be a warning sign for us.

It is nature’s way of saying:

  1. Something big is about to happen.
  2. Something big is about change.
  3. Get ready.
  4. Be prepared.
  5. Look up.
  6. Jesus is coming for His Bride, The Church.
  7. Life as you know it is about to change!

Nugget: Christians call this “the Rapture” or as the Bible calls it “the catching away.”

God is a God of order. These prophetic events will take place in an orderly, systematic manner. Carefully, use other books and other tools to help you understand your Bible. These resources can provide additional background cultural information. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your quest for His truth about the End Time.

The Rapture

The next event on God’s prophetic calendar is the Rapture of the Church, the Ecclesia (Jesus’ bride). One day, in the twinkling of an eye, Jesus will step out of Heaven on a cloud to gather His people (true believers) to meet Him in the air.

Nugget: Many Jews are turned off by the word “Church” because it is associated with Christianity. These Jews feel that Christians want them to give up their jewishness. That is not true! A Jew can be both. These people call themselves Messianic Jews. A better and more inclusive term is Ecclesia which was used to describe the first century “Church.” (Read more about the early Ecclesia.)

WARNING: Be careful when someone says the Rapture will happen on a specific date. You may be lulled into thinking, “Ah, good, I have more time before I must make my decision.” Make your decision to follow Christ, NOW!

HOPE: So, when will the Rapture happen? The world is becoming increasinly divided in very many major ways. The critical division here is between those who trust in the true Christ (or Messiah) and those who don’t. This division will reach a point where neither side will yield nor will either side grow or shrink. In other words, no one else will be willing to accept Jesus as their Savior unless something extremely dramatic and impossibly beyond their ability to control occurs. This is what the Bible means by “the fullness of the Gentiles.”

Romans 11:25 (ESV)
Lest you be wise in your own sight, I want you to understand this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

The word rapture does not appear in our English Bibles. It is found in the Vulgate, the Latin translation of the Bible. The Latin word for rapture is “rapturo.” It is translated in many of our English Bibles as “caught up” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

The Greek word for “caught up” is harpázō (ἁρπάζω - harpázō) [g726] meaning to snatch away, carry off; to seize hastily. The word is normally refers to robbery. In 1 Thessalonians 4:17, the term is used to indicate removal from this world.

A simular word is klepto (κλέπτω - kléptō) [g2813] which is the root for the English word kleptomaniac. Klepto means: I steal, filch, I cheat, I mislead, keep secret. The key phrase here is “keep secret.” The difference is the action harpázō is done openly and in public view. So, the World will KNOW the Rapture occurred when it happens. Even Today, the foundation is being laid to deceptively explain the sudden disappearance of millions upon millions of people.

The Bible says His descent from Heaven will be accompanied by a heavenly shout, the voice of an archangel, and the sounding of the trumpet (shofar) of God (1 Thessalonians 4:16–18; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Hebrews 1:1–2).

The word “rapture” simply means “to be caught up” or “to be taken away” from the earth. We will be “caught up” into to the very presence of God to be with Him forever…eons upon eons…!

The Judgment Seat of Christ

Next, the Judgment Seat of Christ will take place. Do not confuse this with the White Throne Judgment which occurs much later.

All believers:

  1. Meet Jesus in the air.
    1. Dead in Christ will rise first
    2. We who are still alive will rise.
  2. We will be taken to heaven (New Jerusalem).
  3. Given our new resurrected body.
  4. Be in the very presence of Jesus.
  5. Liberated from the power of sin.
  6. A time to lay our “crown” before the throne of God (Revelation 4:10).

By “in Christ”, the Bible means those believers who died AFTER Jesus’ accension to Heaven. Also, included are those token few who were caught up with Jesus when He presented Himself before the Father after His resurrection. At this moment, Jesus poured His blood upon the heavenly altar and other furnishings. And, the token group (or sheath) of believers were presented as a wave offering before the Father for the harvest of the nations to come. (Read more about wave offerings.)

The Judgment (Bema) Seat of Christ

The two purposes of this judgment

  1. Give an accounting of our actions
  2. An awards ceremony

Three types of crowns:

  1. Crown of Righteousness: Jesus gives to everyone who longed to see His face (2 Timothy 4:8).
  2. Crown of Life: Everyone who truly loves Jesus and stay faithful to Him during trials of life (James 1:12; Revelation 2:10).
  3. Crown of Glory: Given to the faithful ministers of God (1 Peter 5:4).

Nugget: Jesus, who once wore a crown of thorns will receive from us the very crowns He has given us. Also, the crown of thorns represents the curse of thorns and thistles God placed on the Earth in Genesis 3:18.

We will receive our crowns, along with any other rewards the Lord may have for us (2 Corinthians 5:10). All believers will stand before Jesus. Let us be perfectly clear! This is NOT a judgment of our salvation. Salvation was given to us when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Savior. Our sins were judged by God and forgiven by God through the sheading of blood by Jesus at Calvary.

Jesus’ blood at the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21):

  1. Jesus was punished for our Sin.
  2. Jesus died for our Sin.
  3. Through Jesus’ blood and resurrection, we will NEVER be judged for our Sin.

Nugget: It is very important to ask for forgiveness and repent of our Sin when the Holy Spirit shines His spotlight on them. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide all of us with pure motives and pure actions. By repenting of the one sin of delaying our acceptance of Jesus as our Messiah, our Savior, ALL of our sins will be wiped away! Even though you are saved, repentance must continue for future sins to help maintain your close relationship with God.

The judgment of our service to God (2 Corinthians 5:10):

  1. Our motives will be weighed.
  2. Our thoughts will be revealed.
  3. Our desires will become clear.

We will be rewarded not only for WHAT we did but WHY we did it. In other words, did we do it for our glory or for His Glory?

The Bible says that the puriy of each one’s works will become clear because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work (1 Corinthians 3:13). The works we did for God with improper motives and impure desires will be destroyed. We will receive no rewards for those.

The work we did for God with proper motives and pure hearts will be rewarded.

Let us:

  1. Get our hearts right with God.
  2. Do whatever we need to do so that we can do well at this judgment.
  3. Say “thank you” for letting me serve Him in the first place.

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

After the Judgment Seat, we will enjoy sitting down to dine with Jesus, our Savior, Lord and King. What an awesome God we serve! His perfect order in His time schedule. We will eat and fellowship.

The Scriptures say, "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His Bride has made herself (the Church) as the bride of Christ.

And, we have prepared ourselves for this event by being cleansed by His precious blood (1 Peter 1:18–19; 1 John 1:7). We could never earn our salvation through works. We received it as a free gift (Romans 6:23).

The Great Tribulation

While believers are receiving rewards in Heaven and enjoying the Marriage Supper, sheer terror will be taking place on earth. After the Rapture of the Church, a period of suffering and judgments will be unleashed for seven years. Jesus Himself talked about it in Matthew 24:15–18 and Mark 13:14–23. It is also explained in great detail in Revelation 6–19.

The purpose of this time of suffering and judgment will be to give unbelievers, Jews and Gentiles, living at that time a final chance to repent and received Jesus as Savior.

And, this is what will happen. In Revelation 7, we read that 144,000 Jewish people will be saved as well as a great multitude which no one can number from all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues (Revelation 7:9).

God, in His great mercy, will give the unbelieving world one final chance to repent and receive Jesus. He will reveal to those living on the earth at that time how awful life is when Jesus is rejected.

Two purposes:

  1. A wake up call.
  2. Judgment on Sin.

Three categories of judgments during this seven year period. Each one getting progressively worse.

The judgments

  1. The Seal Judgment.
  2. The Trumpet Judgment.
  3. The Bowl Judgment.

The world will be in such a state of disarray that people will be utterly desperate for peace. They will follow anyone who promises to help them. This how the Anti-Christ will rise to power deceiving many people (Revelation 13:13–14).

2 Thessalonians 2:8–10 (ASV)"
8And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming; 9even he, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

WARNING: In Greek, “received not” means to NOT accept an offer deliberately and readily. It is very clear that the offer of the “love of the Truth” was presented in some form to all. Unbelievers simply refused to accept the offer. Thus, they are just beginning to suffer the consequences of their decision.

HOPE: There is still time—not much time though—to accept the offer during the Great Tribulation.

The Anti-Christ will:

  1. Make a covenant of peace with Israel.
  2. Allow them to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.
  3. Fool Israel into thinking he is on Israel side.

Midway through the Tribulation, he will set himself on the throne of the temple and demand to be worshipped. His hatred for Israel will be revealed as he will violently turn on them.

The Anti-Christ and his cohort, the false prophet, will cause everyone who wants to buy and sell to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead. The Bible calls it the “Mark of the Beast” (Revelation 13:17). Those who receive this mark will do so to their own destructions.

WARNING: DO NOT TAKE the Mark of the Beast EVEN if it means death for you or your loved ones. By taking the mark, your life may seem to be a little easier. But, the eternal price you will pay will be beyond your worst nightmare. Once taken, there is NO turning back! Rejection of Jesus is beyond cost!

HOPE: Unfortunately, your rejection of Jesus is why you missed the Rapture. In God’s great mercy and His love for you, God is giving you one final chance. As long as you do NOT take the mark, you have a chance. You can still accept Jesus as your Savior. Heaven is far better than Hell….forever…eons upon eons!

Two Witness:

The 3½ year ministry of the Two Witnesses overlaps Daniel’s 70th week beginning late in the first half and ending sometime before the Second Coming. They will fulfill Zechariah 4:11–14 and Revelation 11:3–14.

Revelation 11:3–6 (NIV)
3And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.” 5If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

There is much speculation about identity of these two. The top contenders for the two positions are Enoch, Moses, Elijah, and even John the Baptist. Since they represent two olive trees and two lampstands, it would make sense for one to be a Jew and the other to be a Gentile.

Then they will be murdered. Their bodies will be abandoned where they fall in the streets of Jerusalem, the city where Jesus was crucified (Psalms 79:1–3). In Middle East cultures, greatest insult one can convey is to deny burial to one’s enemy.

The Second Coming of Christ

At His second coming, Jesus will actually step foot the Earth. The Bible says that in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4) and the mountain will split in two.

Jesus first coming has already occurred in Bethlehem:

  1. 1st time as a baby - 2nd time as a King
  2. 1st time as a Savior - 2nd time as a Judge
  3. 1st time in humility - 2nd time in Glory
  4. 1st time to serve - 2nd time to Reign

The Battle of Armageddon

The Anti-Christ will try his best to destroy the Jewish people. He will pursue them as they flee from Jerusalem to the place God has prepared to protect them (Daniel 11:44–45).

It is all part of God’s plan to bring the Anti-Christ to Megiddo, in the Jezeel Valley, where the battle of Armageddon will take place. God will use the wicked kings of the day to set the Anti-Christ up for his ultimate doom.

The name Armageddon means “Mount Megiddo” a crossroads of the world. Whoever controlled Megiddo controls the land, tribes, and commerce of that day. Historians tell us that more battles have been fought in this valley than any other place in the entire world.

God has chosen this place to be the site of the world’s final battle. The Anti-Christ and the armies of the world will be there trying to control the world.

At just the right time, Heaven will open and Jesus will descend (Revelation 19:11). And, He is not coming alone (Revelation 19:14). This army is comprised of all the people that went in the Rapture. We, His Redeemed, will be part of God’s Army. Another reason not to miss the Rapture.

The great thing about this war is we will not be fighting. Instead, we will be the cheering squad. Jesus, the Lamb of God, now the Lion of Judah, will fight this battle for us (Revelation 19:15–21). This seems appropriate since He fights our battles when we let Him which we should always allow.

The carnage from this war will be extensive. The Bible teaches that the bloodshed from this battle will come up to the horses bridles for 1,600 furlongs (Revelation 14:20). That translates to a 184 mile, 4 foot deep river of blood flowing from northern Israel to southern Israel.

The Millennium Kingdom

After Jesus’ decisive victory over the Anti-Christ and the armies of the world, we will enter into a thousand years of peace on Earth. The earth will be restored to its natural environment similar to the original Garden of Eden in Genesis. Since so little is known about the Millennium, there is specultion that a Third Testament will be available.

We, of the Lord’s army, will now follow Him to Jerusalem where He will set up His Millennium Kingdom. It is believed the Redeemed Church will be given tasks to perform in administrating this kingdom.

Two reason for peace:

  1. Satan cast into the bottomless pit (Revelation 20:1–3).
  2. Jesus ruling the world with a rod of iron (Revelation 19:15; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 2:4; Isaiah 11:6; Isaiah 35:1).

The Dead Sea will come to life. Water will begin to flow underneath the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 47:1) to the Great Sea. There will be a great multitude of fish and sea life. (Ezekiel 47:9–10).

During this time, the sacrificial system of the Torah will be in place. (Read more about sacrifices) The Jews will occupy Israel. The Gentiles will repopulate the other nations.

Satan Sentenced to Hell

At the Battle of Armageddon, not everyone on Earth will be killed. After the thousand years, Satan will be released for a short time. Again, he will rally the unsaved forces to attack the people of God. Satan will deceive the people who are born during the Millenium Kingdom.

It is said Today that the third generation are the ones who turn away from the teachings of their grandparents. Like the Old Testament children the third generation doesn’t remember the miracles and wonders of the great “I AM.” They become self sufficient. We need to earnestly and continually pray NOW for our present and future grandchildren. We need to also pray for the third generation of the Millennium Kingdom.

Nugget: We who followed Jesus out of Heaven will be in our new, resurrected bodies where Satan and Sin can not touch us. Also, we will be living in the New Jerusalem, not on Earth, yet . The New Jerusalem won’t come down until the New Earth is created.

Many of the children living in this era of peace may never embrace the Prince of Peace, Jesus. After the millennium, Satan will entice them to follow him. This satanic rebellion will be quickly crushed. God will again defeat Satan once and forever (Revelation 20: 9–10). Unfortunately, many of the millennium children will go down with him. Satan promises fun and life. In reality, they are lies, horrors, and death leading many to Hell.

Isaiah 45:22–23 (ESV)
22“Turn to me and be saved,

all the ends of the earth!

For I am God, and there is no other.

23By myself I have sworn;

from my mouth has gone out in righteousness

a word that shall not return:

‘To me every knee shall bow,

every tongue shall swear allegiance.’

The Great White Throne Judgment

Those who rejected Jesus during their lifetimes will end up at the Great White Throne Judgment. Important: Remember there is no death during the millennium. Death was defeated by Jesus. At this judgment, they will be judged for their sins and will be sentenced to Hell. Again, this is forever.

The unbelievers who died before the Rapture did not go immediately to Hell. Instead, they went to a place called Hades (Luke 16:19–31). Hades is a place of agony, torment, and suffering. Think of it as a very unpleasant holding tank awaiting for eternal sentences to Hell.

Nugget: Those of us who accepted Jesus will not appear at this judgment. Our sins have already been judged by God at the cross of His Son, JESUS!

The Eternal State

The eternal state of those who rejected Jesus is beyond awful. It will be in a place called the Lake of Fire or Hell (Revelation 20:14–15). The first ones to go to Hell will be the Anti-Christ, his cohorts, and the False Prophet. Then all the unbelievers who rejected Jesus. There will be NO redemption. Who goes to Hell will stay in Hell FOREVER!

God did not create Hell for people. He created Hell for Satan and his fallen angels (Matthew 25:41). But, when Adam sinned, everything changes. (Read more about Adam.) Rejection of Jesus is very costly. There is no other alternative. Sins must be paid for.

The eternal state of the redeemed is:

  1. Wonderful beyond measure.
  2. Free from everything that is bad.
  3. No sorrow.
  4. No crying.
  5. No pain.
  6. Only perfection.
  7. Living in peace in the Presence of Jesus.

The Final Invitation

We do not know for sure when the trumpet will sound for the Rapture. According to the Written Word, the time is growing closer. Our earthly life will end.

The final invitation is a clear and open call to everyone who wants to be with Jesus forever. Jesus is the only door to Heaven. But praise God, this door is open to everyone (Revelation 22:17).

IMPORTANT: You can accept JESUS at the very last second of your life. But, why wait? Do NOT let the evil one convince you that it is too late or your sins are too many for His forgiveness. All LIES!!!! Remember, there is only one Sin which needs to be forgiven and ALL of the others will be wiped away! God knows your life from the beginning to the end—our good deeds and thoughts—even our bad deeds and thoughts. He still loves you and sent His Only Son to die for you. God wants to wrap His loving arms around you.

Simple pray of repentance:

Jesus, I believe that You love me in spite of myself. You died on the cross and was resurrected from the grave now sitting on theThrone. I ask you to totally forgive me of my Sin. Let your blood washed all of my sins clean. I invite you into my heart to live there forever being one of your redeemed children. Thank you for accepting me. In Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen!

What’s next?

  1. Begin to develop a relationship with Him.
  2. Talk with Him about everything.
  3. Listen to Him.
  4. Read His Word.
  5. Let the Holy Spirit guide and teach you.
  6. Find a Bible teaching church or a Bible teaching home group.

Heaven is only one trumpet blast away. Our lives may be the only light someone might see. Pray for eyes to be opened and ears to understand His truth. Be a witness to a dying, unsaved world. Again, pray for our future generations that they will have the wisdom to endure whatever is soon coming to this world and not be deceived. Amen and amen!

Note: Check out Jack Kelly’s FREE eBook on Revelation.

It cannot be over emphesized how short time is and how bad the Great Tribulation will be. It is our prayer that you will accept Jesus as your Savior so you will NOT need to suffer through the tribulation. God willing, the next post will be about the Feast of Trumpets.

Until next time,
